Our lotion is very creamy. In fact, we’ve had to experiment to find the right amount of creaminess that will still flow through the pump top! We make the lotion in small batches using aloe vera juice and pasteurized goat milk from our sweet mamas as the liquid. Raw shea butter and the right combination of oils moisturize dry skin without feeling greasy. This year, after much research, we added collodial oatmeal and allantoin which are two great ingredients for sensitive skin. We also substituted a bergaptene free Bergamot essential oil for the Pink Grapefruit essential oil. When applied to the skin, citrus essential oils can make your skin more prone to sunburn, unless you choose one that is bergaptene free. Bergamot is the orange or citrus flavor in Earl Gray Tea.
Please note that because we use natural ingredients, they must be used in a timely manner. Homemade bread is best eaten fresh or it will spoil unless it is packed with tons of chemical preservatives to artificially extend its shelf life. Our lotion includes a broad-spectrum preservative to protect against the growth of mold and bacteria. However, the oils themselves have a limited shelf-life so enjoy within 6 months of purchase. And keep the bottle out of direct sunlight. The preservative breaks down when it reaches 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
*We are working on improving our lotion labels. The photo is an old label. We have had a few since these labels we thought were keepers! We will update with a current photo and remove this note when we create THE one. Thanks for your patience.:)
